College Decision: UCR or NYU-Poly?! Help!!

Hi, I got my college decision all in since 2 weeks ago but I came down to two colleges which are UC Riverside and Polytechnic Institute of New York University. Can anyone help me here?

1) With education focus, which one is the best?
2) Which college would be the best for computer engineering major?
3) Which place has a convenient place to stay?

And if you have more information, please tell me!
Also, I got scholarship/grant from both colleges and they're pretty high so money is no object here.

Is this a serious question? Although I think you can never go wrong at a UC, and I had to google Polytechnic Institute of New York University and find out that it is indeed affiliated with NYU, you have to be kidding?

NYU-Poly appears to be a technical school with an undergrad body of under 2,000, and it is selective at a 55% admit rate.

Riverside will have all the normal majors with an undergrad pop of 17,000 and an 80% admit rate.

If you are sure that you will stick with CS (or engineering or science), AND the cost situation is similar, then NYU-Poly is the clear favorite and congrats on your acceptance plus a financial award there. You should feel proud of yourself for both these admits.

For your information, this is a serious question for me. I know, when it comes to ranking, UC Riverside is a lot better with longer education history. But I have always thought about NYU-Poly but my parents and parents’ friends keep discouraging me about NYU-Poly while people at my school do.

And thank you for telling what you feel about it. It really helps me a lot.

tell them to ess-tea-eff-you. bc it’s, for all intents and purposes, NYU.

…i go there, thats why i get defensive

@static75: I’m lost… you’re saying I should go to NYU-Poly right…?

Can anyone else help me here??

no, I’m saying don’t talk shiz about Poly because it can be prison-like, yes, but like all colleges, it has its moments and I love being a part of it

I’m also saying it’s entirely up to you. I feel like if someone told you, “DEFINITELY GO TO ___________” you would listen because you can’t decide for yourself. No. lol that’s not how it works - YOU need to decide for yourself. Good luck and have faith in yourself!!!

UCR definitely for computer-engineering they just opened up four new big buildings all for engineering purpose. Especially for nano technology. CONSIDER IT.

The OP probably already made a decision but I would go to UCR over NYU Poly.
