College Decision

I’m currently deciding between Temple University, F&M, UVM, and TCNJ. Despite how different they all are, I find myself unable to decide!!! If you found yourself in this situation, what school would you choose?

And why??? I’m just trying to gain perspective.

Those are all very different schools and campuses, so in addition to considering the programs at the schools and the costs of each, you want to think about how you’ll spend the next four years. Do you see yourself in a big city, a self-contained campus, a rural area or a small city? Temple is a city campus and very urban. F&M is outside the city of Lancaster so it’s not as urban, UVM is in a chill, rural area, and TCNJ is pretty much all by itself in a suburban setting.

@veehee I like certain aspects of each school. I’ve toured all of them, and value each one of them in a relatively similar way. I am slightly worried about prestige. F&M is the best school out of the bunch, but I’d likely be the happiest at Temple.

F&M and Temple present two very different environments. If you feel you’d be happier in a large urban campus then go to Temple.

Depending on your major/degree prestige will vary. Going to a prestigious school that isn’t a good fit won’t mean much. If you really can’t decide, list the pros and cons and see what you come up with.

Set prestige aside. Assuming all are affordable, where do you think you’ll be the most academically and socially satisfied (and challenged). Compare what each program offers, then layer in all the rest (school size, setting, distance from home, etc)

Find a fit, don’t fit a find. Schools can look look lovely in rankings or impress others but if they aren’t the right fit, it’s irrelevant and silly.

To me Temple is the outlier, (personality size and setting wise) where the others have more in common (though still very different) but all are great options.

I’d pick Temple, as well. All are solid schools but if you’d be happiest at Temple then I’d go with that.

Are net costs at each identical?

No but cost is not a concern
