College decision

My daughter is deciding between Boston Conservatory and Marymount Manhattan for dance. Her goal is to dance professionally (contemporary/concert-style). Any input would be greatly appreciated. She’s visited both schools and still unsure. She was accepted to Tisch, early decision, and ultimately declined for various reasons.

I’d assume her Tisch decline was for financial reasons, as that is the only valid reason to turn down ED. Are both these schools financially viable?

Seems like several people are turning down Tisch this year. I wonder if it’s all financial or if there is another reason. Thoughts?

Yes, financial was foremost reason, and yes both of the other schools are financially viable, being she was awarded scholarships to both.

@dkmm1973 I wouldn’t be surprised if financial is a big factor.

@dkmm1973 With Tisch consistently being listed as the top BFA Dance Program (switching off with Juilliard typically for the 1st or 2nd spot by most published rankings) I would venture to guess its for financial reasons if someone is turning it down.
