I've been accepted to 7 schools that i applied to: University of Maryland College Park, University of Delaware, Virginia Tech, James Madison, University of South Carolina, Syracuse, and UMass Amherst. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding where to go, so any advice would help!

I'm planning on majoring in international business/ business finance. Im worried if i go to Maryland i won't be accepted into the business school.

Im instate at Maryland, so that would be the cheapest school to attend. South Carolina is about the same price with the scholarships i received.

Im also worried about the crime rate at University of Maryland, because of the bad area and large campus.

If you really want to do international business, then University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC is ranked #1 in the US according to US News! But it doesn’t seem to be ranked very high in general for business. Try visiting some of the schools, if possible, and see which one you like.

“Im worried if i go to Maryland i won’t be accepted into the business school.” Call the business school at Maryland and ask about how difficult it is to transfer into after you become a student there. I assume from your comment that you were admitted directly into the b-school there.

Have you been accepted into the business school at any of the others?

We looked at UMDCP with my son but he decided it was too big. The area aound it didn’t look too bad though. UDel seemed to be similar to UMD but with a nicer campus and is a smaller school. Syracuse (depending on the aid you received) may not be worth the cost difference over UMD. Also the winters are brutal. I’m partial to UMass because my son goes there and I feel he’s getting an excellent education for a fair price (we’re instate) but unless you got a good financial package from them or it’s the only place you got into the b-school, I’m not sure it’s worth the cost premium over UMD.

Don’t you think the Baltimore-Washington area would be a better environment for internships in your field than any of the other locations? Maybe Delaware is good for that too, though.
