College Decisions

Hi,

I’m an international student who plans to study Architecture in the United States.

Recently, I was accepted to CMU for Fall 2018! I’m currently debating to settle in this school but its tuition fee is too high. Can you give me some review about its architecture program? Is it worth the price?
Thank You!

if the tuition is too high, it is too high. CMU does not offer financial aid to international applicants and this is made clear at the start of the application process. have you been accepted anywhere else in the U.S. that you can afford and attend?

Where else have you been admitted?
What is your budget and how much would CMU cost?

I was also admitted to the following universities:
Cal Poly SLO
SCI-Arc
Pratt Institute
Virginia Tech
Syracuse University

My parents say they can afford my tuition fees for any of these colleges, but I am unsure if CMU’s architecture program is really worth its price. What do you think?

CMU would cost me around $74,000 so I don’t want to make the wrong decision.

The median architect salary in the United States is currently $76k. But, as an international student, that salary is meaningless unless post-college you can be legally employed in the United States. For you, the question you should be asking is what is the starting/median salary for architects in your home country. Based on simple math, paying nearly $300k to get an architecture degree from a private US university does not make economic sense.
