This is kind of a weird question... but as we all know, college depression rates are skyrocketing all over the country, especially at rigorous schools. I'm working through depression right now and I'm scared college is going to hit me like a truck and drive me into the ground. I'm a good student when I don't give in to my self-destructive tendencies, and I'm looking at some pretty intense colleges such as Swarthmore, Brown, CMU, Stanford, and Pomona. So, to get to the heart of my question: does anyone have experience with how the community and administration at these schools or similar ones deal with students' psychological problems? I don't know, free therapy or support groups or something? I don't want to be alone in my head when I start to crack...
Thanks.

Almost all colleges have a health and counseling staff to help with medical, emotional and mental diagnoses. I would have trouble believing the schools on your list would not have good support.

Many times no appointments are necessary for students, walk-in counseling centers.
