College edited my FAFSA?

Hi recently I've been in great contact with one college in particular about financial aid. We sent them a lot of documents related to our financial situation because it's very tricky with the struggling businesses my dad is a part of. Recently, I was notified by an email that my FAFSA had been corrected by a college.

part of the message i received.

Congratulations, your FAFSA Correction was processed successfully.

This FAFSA Correction was made by a Financial Aid Administrator (FAA) at your school. If you think you need to make additional corrections, contact your FAA before doing so.

What Happens Next
- Your FAFSA information was sent to the school(s) on your FAFSA, and they will contact you if they need additional information.
- Your school(s) will use your FAFSA information to determine the aid you may be eligible to receive.

- Contact your school(s) with any questions about your financial aid package.

I'm really confused, I'm assuming this is the college I've been in contact with that edited my FAFSA. I was selected for verification, but I didn't know a college could do this. Is there a way I can find out which college edited my FAFSA? My EFC rose by about 5,000. The numbers I originally edited changed, and I think they became more accurate, but I would still like to know which college did the edit.

Also, I have the opportunity to link my FAFSA with the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. But because a college seemed to have already edited my FAFSA, I don't know if it is necessary. The two colleges I must decide between haven't told me to do this. What should I do?

Thanks

Yes, a college can change your FAFSA, and in fact they’re required to when an item is incorrect based on verification.
