College endowments

Let me apologize in advance if this has been asked recently as my question might be posted on another forum.

How do I find information regarding the size of a school's endowment fund?

Thanks in advance for help or pointing me in the right direction.

Follow wikipedia: [List of colleges and universities in the United States by endowment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](List of colleges and universities in the United States by endowment - Wikipedia)
It’s sourced there.

Thanks for the information!

You can also look them up in the Peterson guide [Search for Colleges and Universities, Graduate Schools, Online Degree, Private Schools - Peterson’s](http://www.petersons.com/) under facilities.

here you go.

this is the official, more complete list

Page not Found;

When reading the list ^^^^, keep in mind the number of students.

Also some schools have multiple endowments that may not be included there. It’s just a start. It misses at least $2 Billion of U Wisconsin’s total endowment.

For most of these schools at the top, a modest 5% income from their endowment would be enough to pay full tuition for their entire student body.

Maybe, barrons, but UW’s “multiple endowments” are largely restricted. UW’s missed $2 billion, for example, doesn’t do jack to improve undergraduate financial aid, which is one of the main reasons why people care about endowment size.

All endowments are mostly restricted. And the missing $2 Billion is one of the least restricted you will find as it does not have to fund any one school or department. Basically they can do anything they want that benefits the UW.

And the fin aid situation is being improved quite rapidly.
