<p>When reading the list ^^^^, keep in mind the number of students.</p>
<p>Also some schools have multiple endowments that may not be included there. It’s just a start. It misses at least $2 Billion of U Wisconsin’s total endowment.</p>
<p>For most of these schools at the top, a modest 5% income from their endowment would be enough to pay full tuition for their entire student body.</p>
<p>Maybe, barrons, but UW’s “multiple endowments” are largely restricted. UW’s missed $2 billion, for example, doesn’t do jack to improve undergraduate financial aid, which is one of the main reasons why people care about endowment size.</p>
<p>All endowments are mostly restricted. And the missing $2 Billion is one of the least restricted you will find as it does not have to fund any one school or department. Basically they can do anything they want that benefits the UW. </p>
