College Equivalent

AP Computer Science isn't offered at my high school, but I'm hoping to major in computer science and I wanted to take it at the nearby community college (assuming I get in). I am quite confused as to which semester course I am most qualified for. I have taken a high school level intro to java course a couple of years ago over the summer, but I haven't used it in a while. I was thinking that COMSC-110 Introduction to Programming was most appropriate, but I want to make sure I wouldn't need COMSC-100 Introduction to Computers and Information Systems. Thanks! The course catalog is here <a href="http://www.dvc.edu/org/info/schedules/pdfs/coursesSP13.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.dvc.edu/org/info/schedules/pdfs/coursesSP13.pdf</a></p>

Well, here are the COMSC 100 assignments:
[Diablo Valley College - Computer Science Department - COMSC-100 Lab](http://www.dvc.edu/org/departments/computer-science/labar.htm)

If you already have programming experience from your high school course, COMSC 100 does not look worthwhile for you.

Since you are in California, you can use [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to check course equivalency between Diablo Valley College and UCs and CSUs. If Berkeley is one of your target schools, you may also want to consider CIS 61 at Laney.
