College Essay about Rejecting Catholicism?

@simslover From your last post I believe that you have a lot of issues that you will need to work out as you grow up.

If your dad was so “turned off” by the Catholic church, why did he “force” you to go to Catholic schools?

There are a lot of inconsistencies/fabrications in what you have posted that stretches credibility.

@intparent Yeah, I’ve abandoned it! I got my sister’s input (she’s in PR) and I’m going with another topic I had in mind. Thanks for your advice.

Whatever topic you pick, realize that the college essay is not a platform for you to vent your lifelong frustrations. It’s an opportunity for the AdComms to see you in a POSITIVE light, and not simply be witness to your emotional therapy.

Simply stating that you reject an ideology is PASSIVE. Pick a topic that shows how you might contribute to the student community CONSTRUCTIVELY. Good luck.

^^^Right.

Repeat the mantra: “Does this essay give them a reason to say yes???”

This essay is not an Op Ed piece for the NY Times. It’s not Confession. It’s not therapy. It’s not an audition for reality TV. It’s part of your college application, an attempt to “give them a reason to say yes.” Every single word on your application should be written with that goal in mind.

In my opinion, this is not your best choice in achieving that goal.
