I’m just starting to think about college essays and I have no idea where to start? Are there websites or books that have college essay examples that I could read to get an idea of the format? Thanks.

I’m not sure it is a great idea to read too many other essays. I would at least make an attempt to do drafts of a prompt or two first. Here are some ones the colleges post.

Honestly, I think that reading other essays sometimes clouds what you write-- suddenly, all you can think of is what THEY wrote.
I’m kind of hoping that, since this thread was started in July, the OP has her essay already written. But if there’s anyone out there who is still stalling, then sit down and begin to write.
Editing is so much easier than writing. Just get some ideas down on paper-- but do it today!!
