Ive been rewriting and rewriting my supplement essay (! not my "meat and potatoes" common app essay) that goes along the lines of "Why this college...?" and it's still not where I want it to be. I recently skimmed through a college essays book though, and saw that some people wrote essays with drawings or in a cartoon form.

I thought it was an interesting idea so I drew some preliminary sketches that could be infused with my essay and I really love how it's turning out- but is this too unorthodox? And how do you send supplements online usually, with a word document or by filling in a text box? Bc if it's the latter, I don't think the school could even accept my drawings.

I'm also not planning on majoring in studio art or anything if that helps, and but I'm a really good artist, but can't seem to express it in anywhere my extracurricular activities sheet. Your opinions?

I think I read in some college admissions book that when a student sent in drawings or decorations on the app it came out as cheesy. But again if your an art major then go for it! Good luck

Last year, I wrote an essay about my personality, etc, and how all my various interests were "at war" within me, so to speak, and etc...and I included a copy of my self portrait as a "glimpse" of the "real me"...and I think that added a nice touch. So, follow through with your initiative, as long as you don't think it too outrageous, you'll be fine. Also not an art major, but had been drawing a lot. I sent my apps in hard copy and for the ones I filled online, I just included the drawing with the other documents I sent.
