College Essay topic (please critique)

I currently have two topics to write on.
1. Living with my brother, who has significant mental and behavioral issues-autism-and how it has taught me to be more patient, compassionate, and idealistic.
2. The experience I had at age 9, when I wrote to Donald Trump after a contest on the show the Apprentice called my grandmother a "jaded, old bag/hag". I almost got to talk to him on the phone, but he eventually pulled out; I did, however, get an autographed biography and action figure from him. <_<

My parents, however, think the latter topic might be objectionable. Do you guys think it's a good idea?

Another topic for experience/accomplishment could be winning awards for my SAT score in 7th grade SAT score for JHU-CTY, or the bullying and taunting I experienced after skipping a grade. Thanks! :)

The Trump incident was long ago. What does it reveal about you now?

What does the fact that you won an award in 7th grade reveal about you now?

When did the bullying occur? What does it reveal about you now?

If you choose topic #1: make sure that the essay is personal, specific/detailed, and revealing about you; be careful to avoid making the essay so focused on your brother that not enough is revealed about you.

^ Thanks.
I wrote an essay on how I learned to love art after being forced to take Art Media and get a B in it in 9th grade.

Can I send anyone my essay to critique?
