I want to write about tennis for my college essay. I’ve been playing for a long time, but the problem is that i’m not very good. Is it still ok to write about it?

It will be fine, so long as you have something else to say in addition to
"I've been playing tennis for a long time and I am not very good".

Has tennis influenced your life in a way? Does it show something about you, such as persistence? Make sure you focus on something like the above

if you have something you're good at, better to do that. Why focus on something you're not good at? you only have one chance to tell them something about yourself through your essay!

well, you can put a twist to it. I wrote about a juggling essay, but I can't really juggle. (Maybe for about i minute max) I wrote about the symbolism that is involved in juggling. Maybe you can "come up" with some symbolism that is present in tennis. I play tennis too and I can already see some. Um, conversing with someone or something. When you serve, it could mean that you are angry. Talk about different spins. Maybe I am not making much sense. I'm just typing what's coming to my head.
