Michigan not only plays Texas, but also Oregon, USC, Washington and of course OSU. If I were Michigan Iād cancel Texas and schedule Portland State.
Did you watch Boo Corriganās ESPN interview after the rankings came out? Here is the Texas-Oregon portion.
Oregon dominates because they are in the 60s on SOS vs. Texas 13th. He talks about Bo Nixonās completion rate. Where is that in the criteria, Boo? Iām just saying if you are going to say you consider X,Y and Z as the most important criteria, then thatās what you should consider. If late-season games are going to be weighted, then say that. If a QBās passing % is weighted, say that up front. This is some Grade A rationalization is all Iām saying.
Yes, my only comment is that heās doing PR on TV and heās just one person of 13 committee members.
IMO, FSU looked terrible against UF last Saturday and should not be #4. Yes, theyāre unbeaten, but they donāt pass my āsmell testā post QB (Travis) injury.
As a Michigan fan, I hope FSU wins, moves up to #3, Oregon moves into the #4 spot with a win over Washington and Michigan gets FSU in a semi. Yes, one last B1G-Pac 12 Rose Bowl would be great for nostalgia, but who cares, FSU looks vulnerable.
Who has Oregon beaten? Their SOS is crap.
Basically you may as well not play tough early non conference games because even if you win, theyāll say that the season has changed blah blah blah.
āOf course, ranking Oregon ahead of all of them is even more preposterous, given the Ducksā lack of rĆ©sumĆ©ā
Okay I guess I have been deliberately closing my eyes to the coming alignment changes, but that does NOT sound like a Big Ten schedule.
I miss the days when we just played Big Ten (and ND and maybe one other team) and then went to the Rose Bowl against the Pac 10.
Sigh.
Michigan is losing a ton of players to the NFL draft after this season. Potentially 15 according to some. We lose a lot too but not as much as them.
Playing Michigan early next year could be in our favor, especially if Quinn Ewers comes back.
Georgia, Michigan and Oregon are all about the same SOS.
And I vaguely remember posters above lamenting the loss of the Pac 12 and this season being one of the best Pac 12 seasons in recent memory. Utah, Washington, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Colorado all being ranked this season.
Texas has enjoyed a talent/recruiting advantage over almost all college football teams as does Ohio State too. But somehow, Michigan has made the CFP the past two years.
Also, Michigan has done well in the transfer portal.
A big game tonight at 5 PM PST. Oregon vs. Washington.
The winner is likely a CFP participant.
That was Nebraska for years. Play St. Maryās Girls Choir and beat them by 100. Then Neb-Kearney, then the big 8. Welcome to the Big 10.
Blockquote
Yāall, this Okla State longhorn thing is gross. I believe that it doesnāt have anything to do with the game, which doesnāt make it any less gross.
I ddnāt know what you were referring to, but I googled it.
I hadnāt read about that yet either. Appalling.
Huskies vs Ducks, wow!
I hate to say I told you so, but ā¦ wait, no, I donāt. Byeeeee, Oregon!
ETA: I have no ill will toward Oregon at all. One of ds2ās bffs went there. My salty attitude is directed toward the committee that ranked them so high. No strength of schedule and 42 points behind my team in common opponent. I just have to hope that we take care of business.
Listening to Huskies radio. What nice young men.
The commentators are so excited about CFP.
Fun game. I wanted Washington since my neighbor went thereā¦ Now Michigan needs to take care of business. Matildas here we comeā¦
Crazy, last PAC 12 championship.
Oregon lost to the #3 team in the country by a FG. Letās not get too crazy.
Hereās hoping for an Oregon-Texas matchup in the Cotton, Fiesta or Peach bowl to settle this matter.
Great game BTW.
