It is now 2009.

Do you think he’s no longer within the top 5 today?

It doesn’t matter what I think…

However, it is rather unseemly that football coaches are (among) the highest-paid employees of the university, especially for Michigan which is state-run.

I can imagine that the universities’ presidents’ approved of the salaries - which are likely higher than they are even paid.

Universities are not sports enterprises. They are NON-profit organizations designed to produce research and scholarship, not generate revenue…

As long as a university isn’t doing anything illegal, I don’t care HOW they generate revenue. I would argue that USC’s winning football teams over the last several decades has been a major reason why it is a Top 30 school. The money has been amazing.

Then would you care to present evidence that Harbaugh is no longer in the top 5? Otherwise, I think we should assume that he still most likely is, as he clearly was in 2006. After all, it seems rather implausible that the #5 highest paid employee, who was paid $977k in 2006, is now being paid more than $1.25 million just 3 years later, during a time of budget cutbacks.

Look, I presented some evidence. I think it’s now fair for you to do the same.

I am not important enough to be privy to such matters…

Nor am I, yet I presented evidence.

Of course, you don’t.

Doesn’t at least one of your “2 college kids” go to an alleged “football factory”? Just asking…

I think a successful football program makes kids want to go to it thus increasing it’s reputation and ranking like USC

Looks like Alabama students won’t have to watch the NC game on tv, much to the chagrin of their professors:

[Some Faculty Disappointed in UA Decision to Cancel Class - WVUA 7 Tuscaloosa](http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20091209/WVUA01/912099979/1001/NEWS07?Title=Some-Faculty-Disappointed-in-UA-Decision-to-Cancel-Class)

So, what? Texas won’t be in school that week, either. Frankly, I think the BCS is INSANE to schedule the game on a weekday. It would have been better if they had scheduled it on Jan 9th.

BTW…you need to learn how to quote correctly. In your post #28, you include YOUR WORDS in my quote. What’s with that??? Did you learn to do that at an elite, non-football factory school?

Tressel is worth it. :)

Michigan on the other hand needs to pony up the cash.

As much as I love UMich, as an Ohioan I’ll be looking forward to next year’s slaughtering… ;)

This wouldn’t have been a problem had you originally used the “quote” function…

^^^^^

Uh…no…you are responsible for the content of your own post.

I dunno. The football factory crowds will be there, weekday or weekend.

Witness the decisions of both the Alabama and Texas administrators.

I think you need to realize that none of this has anything to do with you. It’s a free country. You can choose to go to the school of your choice - with or without sports. Others should be free to go to the school of their choice.

…with free speech!
