I think some of those are appropriate, actually. But sure, condescending too. Whatever it is, get over yourself and let go of it. Honestly, no one cares about it except you.

Has anyone seen the coach’s poll released? I have completely lost all respect for that poll as they stuck USC at #7 over teams such as Oregon and South Carolina who have respectable wins and even more respectable losses. Stanford also received votes, which is a joke since they have a mere 2-3 record. Oklahoma is tied with USF, when Oklahoma has one loss and USF doesn’t, and USF’s wins have been equal if not better than that of Oklahoma. Purdue is also still ranked with no good wins (even if they were blowouts) and a horrible loss at home, which would have been a shutout had they not scored a last-second touchdown after OSU threw in their third-string.

But then again, the rankings this year really have meant nothing since hardly any team is safe any given week.

LONGHORNS LOST TO OU yesterday. DAMN Mccoy and the idiot who fumbled at the 2 yard line. regardless still got love for my home state. HOOK’EM LONGHORNS

As for the polls, yeah, USC should fall farther than that and have to claw their way back up like everyone else. If LSU had lost to Stanford, they’d be much lower than #7. And by the way, Stanford got four votes in both polls. You can expect a few honorary votes after a win like that, just like Boise State got a few first-place votes after winning the Fiesta Bowl.

I have all the respect in the world for those guys up at Stanford - it is definitely the hardest I-A school to get into for recruited athletes (I think I remember one recruited football player who was denied admission at stanford, went to duke instead) and it certainly is impressive where their football team alumni end up (like med school…)

Though I might point out that in the LA Trade Tech case, it was the USC transfer credit people who discovered & reported that the course wasn’t good enough, and also, that it shows that the USC course is rigorous…otherwise, why would they go elsewhere? (Plus, contrary to what the article says, it is not possible at USC to “pump up your grades” by taking courses anywhere else)

Wow, Hawaii (and Brennan) is way overranked…4 picks today, 5 last week, and overtime against an awful SJSU team? If they win out the rest of their soft schedule, they might just be the worst undefeated team ever.

Wow. Absolute worst decision possible by Kevin Riley, the #2 QB, on the last play of the game. Completely rookie mistake there…I understand that he was trying to make a big play for the team, but GAHHH…
Essentially, for those that didn’t follow:
Cal takes Oregon State punt with 1:08 (or something like that) remaining at their 6 yard line, down 31-28. Cal drives up to Oregon State’s 12 yard line (big conversion on 4th and 17, a huge 30 yard pass to get into FG range). 8 seconds left on the clock, Riley takes the snap. He looks around for a few seconds, doesn’t see anything…and INSTEAD OF THROWING THE BALL AWAY, decides to run. Gains six yards, but the clock keeps running and the game ends. I would be willing to bet that had Kay come out and kicked the tying FG, Bears could have pulled it out in overtime.
