Seriously though, they’ve installed a new offense that should help them. They’ve gone back to the triple option I believe which is what they’ve used in the past with great success (3 National Championships in a row) and it’s what the other Academies use as well with success. I hope they can rebuild and at least have some competitive games this fall…

Penn State has such a cupcake schedule (and no Ohio State does not count). USC has a pretty easy schedule. Barring any upsets, they should face each other in the BCS National Championship game. However, it probably will not work like that coughStanfordcough so we will probably see Florida or Ole Miss in the mix.

Other than that, Wake Forest will win the ACC.

USC has an easy schedule? Um, playing both OSU and ND away? Ok, didn’t realize that makes an “easy” schedule. I give you San Jose State, but seriously? Cause you know, Texas playing Louisiana-Monroe, Wyoming, UTEP, and UCF as their out of conference games is SOOOOO difficult. And UF? Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida international? The only good game out of conference for them is Florida State…but they ALWAYS play that game, lol. BTW, USC plays more preseason ranked opponents than either of those teams ;)

Florida will get to the championship game if they go undefeated or even 1 loss, the pollsters will show them love since they’re the defending champions.

USC has no chance. Barkley had a terrible summer. They will lose to OSU and probably Oregon. Penn State will lose to OSU. Florida vs Texas/Oklahoma/VT/OSU.

They’re not that good. They racked up 8 wins in a ridiculously weak conference and FCS teams.

According to sagarin computer rankings (of all 245 div-1 teams), in 2008 Troy didn’t beat a single team ranked above #100. They themselves ended up at #70, below 5 FCS teams.

Not that I’m saying San Jose State is any better, but Florida’s only real nonconference opponent is Florida State.

Actually, Barkley had a great summer. He has a rocket arm & is incredibly composed in the pocket. His major issue seems to be his tendency to try to make plays where there are none (something that Mark Sanchez also had) which leads to too many interceptions.

Plus, USC runs a pro-style offense and it takes time to properly learn the playbook (one reason it took Mitch Mustain so long to come up to speed)

For the record, didn’t say any team was crappy…

And there are a couple teams that scheduled ridiculously hard…even with Tennessee Tech on the schedule, I don’t think anyone can claim Georgia is loading up on the cupcakes.

Notre Dame and Ohio State away yawn
mark me unimpressed.
I was speaking out conference schedule anyway, and the SEC Schedule is brutal. USC should win all of their games.

I dont take Sagarin’s into account. They’re severely flawed. If you think Troy was only the 70th best team last year, you’re kidding yourself. Calling Troy a ‘fake’ team is insulting. And while Troy and the rest of the SBC may not be SEC/Pac 10 quality, they dont cheat like U$C and other top schools.

Considering U$C is Los Angeles’ pro team, this makes sense.

Dude, chill. It’s just a discussion, don’t blow it up.

Troy is a good team, probably far better than 70th. But they’re just not the top-25 opponent that Florida needs to win a schedule argument.

And enough with the USC cheats. Yes, we all know about Reggie Bush. It’s old news. This thread is about this season. If there’s anything new, fair game to discuss, but there’s not.
