College Football Discussion 09

Because Kiffin knows that this is his best chance at the job. Five years from now, USC won’t have a desperate AD and he probably won’t have Monte for leverage either.

On behalf of all Tennesseeans I would like to apologize for all the screaming, mattress-burning insanity that has been going on on the UT campus in response to Kiffingate. Please know that we’re not all crazed, drunken hick vandals.

Amazing how much entertainment the USC coaching shuffle soap opera has generated. It’s one week into the offseason and this thread is still going strong.

And I’ve completely put off my homework until tonight. Tuesday was supposed to be productive. :/

offseason is pretty exciting in the college football world. This season because of USC, but also national signing day, you never know what those crazy recruits are gonna do.

Also, I think the hiring of lane at sc was a great hire, hes a great recruiter, and I bet that when his staff is all done, it is going to be really good. The thing i’m looking most forward to is how USC’s recruiting class is gonna turn out, I predict its going to sky rocket and get a lot better than what it is now, which isn’t a very good class so far.

HAHAHA who the hell is Derek Dooley?!

Tennessee recruits are gonna de-commit, no point in going there now.

What a terrible hire.

Skip Holtz to USF!

Wow! Looks like Holtz will be hosting his past-school (UConn in 90s) down in Tampa this season!

What really sucks is that Boise St. plays 2 big conference teams (oregon st. and VT) and if they win both, they’ll make the natl. championship, assuming they don’t lost to the sucky teams in the WAC. They didn’t look good against TCU and would get killed by a Texas/Bama.

A lot of these small time undefeated teams lost their legitimacy when an undefeated Cincinnati was demolished by a one loss Florida.

LOL @ Cincy being grouped in with “small time undefeated teams”.

I’m pretty sure Cincy is in the Big East, like a BCS conference, buddy.

Cincy is a mid-major school. They aren’t big or small.

LOL. 39,000 undergrad isn’t big or small. Okay.

^The amount of students has nothing to do with the discussion.

They aren’t small because they arent in the MWC, C-USA, etc. or big because they aren’t in the SEC, Big 12, etc. The Big East is a conference kind of in the middle.

Nice, Dookies-

Dumb. The Big East is a BCS conference. It is not “kind of in the middle”.

^ But the Big East doesn’t produce the quality of teams compared to the Big 10, SEC, Big 10, Pac-10.

It doesn’t matter, the Big East is still one of the “Big Six”.

^No, it really does matter. There are eleven conferences with six BCS conferences. Therefore, one BCS conference has to be “in the middle.” I’m not sure the Big East really deserves an Automatic Bid, and it certainly doesn’t have the same level of play as the Big 10, SEC, Big 10, and Pac-10. It can be one of the BCS conferences and still be a lesser conference.
