These days, I tend to be nicer to my relatives that are UM fans/alumni… After all, either in terms of academic ranking or sports (fball/bball)…UM has gone south!! Whereas, tOSU / MSU have excelled in both.

Honestly, I would be thrilled to see UM going private as an attempt to sustain or improve its academic rating in the future. By doing so, UM could be the UPenn on USNews, and my beloved Spartans would be ranked similar to Penn State as the result of sole state support and a major increase in applications, thereby further solidified its flagship status in the state of Michigan!! So far as I am concerned, with 10,000 more and nearly 80% in-state undergrad student bodies at MSU, State is the University of Michigan!! (In spite some michigan alums’ wish, I doubt the school nor President Coleman has the guts to privatize UM).

Lastly, I also hope that Michigan can bounce back in football, so that tOSU can play a worthy opponent this Nov not some team that would lose to App State or Toledo…

p.s. I do root for ‘Meatchicken’ in the bowl game for conference sake!! :p

Ibleedblue,

oh, I graduated from MSU w/ a B.S. in LBS Physiology '98 but wasn’t smart enough to get into its Human Medicine program (M.D.) and had no interest in its D.O. School (Doctor of Osteopathic) so I left for Ohio for post-bac. Following my advisor’s recommendation, tOSU was gracious enough to grant me a 2nd bachelors in Molecular Genetic after ~2 years (quarter system) at OSU taking 4/5/600 level classes with GEC transfer credits from the State. So, Go Bucks! & Go State!! :)

lynxinsider, sorry I don’t expect Pryor to fumble in the 4th Q this year! :P

I can understand why PsU wants to beat Michigan so much. Afterall it happens so infrequently…

Michigan has an academic PA score of 4.4. When either of your alma maters make it to 4.0 you can talk.

I’m a Tar Heel born, I’m a Tar Heel bred
And when I die, I’m a Tar Heel dead
So rah rah Car’lina 'lina
Rah rah Car’lina 'lina
Rah Rah RAh
GO TO HELL DUKE!

Go Heels!

rjkofnovi, FYI, even if you are a physician hail from Meatchicken’s medical school, you have nothing on me!!

hint: I am in my mid-30s now with a Master and M.D. degrees from the east coast in addition to my dual bachelors from MSU/OSU!! You are welcomed to pm me if you want to find out whether or not I am lying about my credential. Nonetheless, I do not see the point to brag about personal academic achievements on public forum.

Anyways, I have returned to my root of Big Ten Country for my internship and residency at Uchicago Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital since '06 living in an area called Streeterville in downtown Chicago. I pray to God for humility & count my blessings each day as I am currently taking time off studying for my board; nonetheless, when it comes to sports, make no mistake, I bleed green & white (mostly bball) + scarlet & gray (mostly ftball).

Understand that I’ve lived through the Saban era (his departure broke my heart) at MSU & Cooper era when I had to put up with my cousins’ BS while I was down in C-bus. The reality is that as much as I hate Meatchicken, and trade smacks with my UM relatives for fun, I still do have tremendous respect of its sports & academic programs!!

I enjoy this video on youtube - especially what Bo had to say about tOSU at the end of the clip. Have a G’wkend, guys!! Peace!! :)

p.s. “Michigan has an academic PA score of 4.4. When either of your alma maters make it to 4.0” -----> Beware what you wish for as tOSU’s President Gee (ex. President of Brown & Vandy) had public announced his pledge to propell the school into the Top 10 Public Universities in the country by the time he planned retirement in ~2017, if not, he would return to his hometown of Vernal, Utah to pump gas! Both Illionois & Wisconsin are w/in Top-10 public (#9 to be exact) and are rated 4.0 & 4.1, respectively. Also, do you know that UM’s PA used to be 4.6, tOSU 3.9 ~ a decade ago, I guess not? :P

^^^Back to OK, or Vandy for him. Whichever pays more of course. Gee (no pun intended) the presidents of Florida, Minnesota, and Clemson all have made the same remarks more or less. Someone is going to be disappointed! I am glad to hear that you have tremendous respect for Michigan academically. Wish I could say the same for TUOS and MsU.

Go Big Ten, I agree!
Here is a cool video for all of you OSU vs NAVY fans!

Tim Tebow!!!

“You can lead a horse to water…Tim Tebow can make him drink!”

^ So will your school break its bowl drought this year? I say no, but next year looks promising.

“Bowl Drought”…you mean being the year that we are not one of two teams in the ACC “Toilet Bowl”?! I hope so! We absolutely must beat UMCP and Wake Forest at home, and hopefully, steal a win on the road against UVa or UNC.

As for a Bowl Game, you need 6 wins for a Bowl invite; sadly, Duke has two AA teams on schedule (Richmond and NCCU), which will not count as “wins” toward the minimum. The games we have a shot (even if remote) are: Army, Maryland, @UVa, Wake Forest, @UNC, @NC State.

Honestly, I think we are a year away. I will be happy if the team can finish games, get a decent special team, and not make so many mental mistakes during games. However, I’m very pleased with Coach Cut and what he has brought to the university (pride, school spirit, reaching out to fans, students, and alumni, discipline within the team, better eating and training habits, etc).

“I am glad to hear that you have tremendous respect for Michigan academically. Wish I could say the same for TUOS and MsU.”

Oh, I sure hope you do!! If not, perhaps you are too young to remember…
From the top of my head, please google the following people:

James Johnston Blanchard (MSU '64)

John Mathias Engler (MSU '71)

Harlan H. Hatcher (BA, MS, PHD, TOSU)

Sparkeye Out! :)

Go 'Noles. We’ll prove it on the field. ;)

They do count, but it won’t matter, because UR will beat you.

No need to google any of them Sparkeye. Two of them were our governors and one was a president of the University of Michigan. Michigan is still superior to either school academically. That said, I hope the Suckeyes beat USC at the horsesh**. I am sick of our teams losing to them in basically their home stadium every year at the Rose Bowl.

I stand corrected; if you have two AA games, only one will count as a win. Duke will beat the Spiders…

Richmond will beat Dook.

“Richmond will beat Dook.”

When Duke wins, I want you to personally drive down from Philly and deliver an authentic cheesesteak from either Pat’s or Geno’s. Whose cheesesteaks do you like better?! My friends from Philly said to get an “American without” (i think?) from Pat’s. However, I’ll let you decide!

Why would you want a crappy horsemeat cheesesteak?

I went to my first college sporting event tonight: volleyball vs. USC and it was amazing (lost my voice and my hands were swollen)

I CANNOT WAIT FOR FOOTBALL
