College for a nerd

Hey Im a techno geek and Im not sure which college I should go to. What is a good coolege for a "techno geek" ?

georgia tech

Assuming you have the grades/scores and ECs, the two elite tech schools, MIT and Caltech are not bad.

ya i was thinking caltech......I have another thread in the caltech forum.

Harvey Mudd.

Carnegie Mellon is good because it's nerdy in general, but it has non-nerds thrown in as well, so you'll be able to get a more complete experience. It's not a technical school though.

Worchester Polytechnic, Olin, and Rensselaer Polytechnic.

UChicago...

Case Western Reserve and Carnegie-Mellon are the famous tech schools in this part of the country.
CWRU, in particular, is famous for having gigabit ethernet connections and the largest pirate network in the country. ;)

Add Rose-Hulman and Cooper Union to the list.

kool thanks guys.......keep them coming lol.

Colorado School of Mines :-P

U of Chicago definately

what can those schools offer and how hard are they to get into (dont explain caltech , i already know its a pain)

Cooper Union has 3 schools - Engineering, Art and Architecture. All three schools are very highly rated in their fields.

The acceptance rate for the engineering school is somewhere around 20%. The other two schools are about 5%. All students get a full tuition scholarship ($120k value)

It's worth noting that although Cooper Union does waive tuition, there is still the cost of room & board and other expenses, totalling about $18,000. Compared to comparable institutions, it's an excellent bargain, however.

Anyone say MIT yet??
