Why are (or were or will be) you going to college? What do you hope to get out of the experience (aka your goals)?

And, I mean outside the rather obvious response of "it is necessary for many career paths". Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this topic.

Keep up with the comp sci major.

Have fun - lots of it!

Learn the art of falling asleep when it's not dark outside.

I started off college from working full time for 2 years, but when I was 18 (finished HS at 16) I kicked into gear when I learned that to keep my parents medical insurance I'd have to take full time classes (my job was at a small business, no insurance offered). For a while I worked and did school full time, then I really started concentrating my focus on college because I decided to go beyond just an associates and a bachelors.

What I hope to get out of it? Well, I've already finished the growing up, getting good grades, and just about have my (first) diploma, so I really am looking to concentrate on more traveling while in college. Once pharmacy takes over, there will be barley any vacation time, so why not learn while seeing new places? Already done Ireland with school (and would be at Trinity, Dublin for pharm school had my parents not been wicked opposed to it) and now I'm going south, and will probably try for at least a semester abroad while working towards my bachelors.

All in all, just plan to enjoy it while it lasts, cause the years in school pass wicked fast.
