College Help

Hello everyone,
I am currently a junior in high school, and had a few questions about college. I am interested in philosophy, psychology, medicine, history, and english. I’m not sure if I would like to go to a small or large school at this time. I have approximately a 3.5-3.6 out of a 4.0 scale unweighted, and around a 4.2 weighted, and I am taking the SAT in a month, so I currently don’t have a score. Any recommendations for colleges that I should look into?

Thanks in advance

  1. You need to know how much you and your parents can afford. If you are in need of financial aid and/or merit aid, then you should target schools where your stats will get the FA or/ merit aid needed. Also you need 1-2 safety schools on your list which means that they have to be affordable.

  2. Home State? Start looking a different schools within your state. State residents usually get the best FA from in-state schools.

  3. Until you finish your Junior year and have an SAT score, it is really hard to recommend. You might want to look at Fiske Guide to Colleges to start narrowing down some choices.

I am a resident of Connecticut. I have also taken two practice SAT’s before, with around a 2000 on them if you can use that as a reference. I am actually a triplet, so my brother will be going to college along with me, but my sister won’t go right to college as she has intellectual disabilities. We estimate that they could afford around 40,000 each for us at max.
