College help.

hello all,

I was wondering if I could get some honest help on the college search process. My "stats" are probably considered pretty low mainly because I didn't apply myself 9th-11th grade =(. Here are the stats

Cumulative gpa- approximately 3.45-3.5 not sure yet (weighted i think, out of 4.3 Weighted or unweighted?)
Also I should say, my low grades are because of low homework scores, my test grades in classes are pretty high except for the SAT -.- I have pretty decent scores on my finals for this year (mid 90s)
rank - 60/130 last time I checked hopefully has gone up
-I attend a public school that is probably one of the most competitive in new york which easily rivals some private schools in the number of ivy league kids they produce.
Sat 1 - math - 640
reading-530
writing-not exactly sure will get back to you (about 570 area)
-Just a side note, math and science are my ONLY good subjects. I have taken the SATs three times and my reading score improves only slightly after many hours of studying. Thinking about retaking in november-december area, will read lots of books in that time (good or bad idea?)
ACT-27
AP's: Chemistry, Physics, Calc (next year),
Courseload: Honors math up until precalc (most advanced math load)
Honors earth science, honors bio, ap chem - ap physics
Spanish as a foreign language until graduation
lots of engineering classes, will have taken all of the project lead the way courses by graduation.
My electives end up being some of my lowest grades because they aren't easy to get A's (i.e. Engineering drawing and design where we actually need to create a product and consult real engineers and ask them for money)

EC's-hopefully my extensive EC list will help with my poor grades
Lacrosse (grade 9-10)
Soccer (grade 9-10)
Indoor track (grade 9-11)
Science Olympiad (grade 11)
Community service club (grade 10)
Currently up to about 25 hours of community service but hope to gain about 40 hours this summer
Feels like I forgot something will add if I did

And if not mentioned above, I am interested in a form of engineering to major in college either mechanical or electrical.

Colleges looking at:
Clarkson (match and probably my first choice)
RIT
SUNY Binghampton
RPI(huge reach, I have no hooks too so lets just say this is my dream school)
Syracuse University (Both my parents took courses there, may or may not help)
Hofstra university
North Arizona university (might cut this from my list)

Could you guys please chance me on the listed schools and name other schools that are good for engineering that are a match-high match. Thank you in advance.

SUNY Buffalo

SUNY Buffalo, match or low match? and do they have a good engineering program.

Also interested in Cornell I guess because both my parents teach there, I think I have better chances of getting in

any input?

Cmon guys help please?

SUNY Buffalo is a match. You have a good shot at Clarkson and RIT. RPI is definitely a reach. SUNY Binghamton is probably a match-reach. You might consider a 3-2 program. SUNY has about 20 3-2 programs. You start out at almost any SUNY for your first two years, then you can transfer to a great private university engineering program for your last 3 years. Check out the SUNY website.

thanks collegehelp I wasnt aware of this .

collegehelp, what are the requirements to transfer to a really presitigious school such as cornell for engineering? I was looking and couldnt find.

yo help pleasE?
