College help

I currently have a 3.9 gpa from Lassiter high school and was deined admissions from UGA. I was accepted at ksu and bama. My intended major is accounting. Which school should I attend freshman year and then transfer to UGA from. Ksu would be instate tuition and bama is out of state. I already have 6 college credits and if I score high enough on my next two ap tests I could have 13 credits for college before the start. Any advice?

This is a guess, but it may be you were denied admissions because of being OOS. This happened to my S for two of the schools he applied to OOS. His stats showed he would have been a shoo-in if he was in-state. This has been a very difficult year for admissions esp. to in-state schools where people are trying to save money. Georgia’s Hope scholarships mean a lot of kids are going to state schools in Georgia.

So, probably no difference in which school will help you transfer. That being the situation, I’d recommend going to KSU and saving some money, so if you do get into UGA next year, you will be able to afford the OOS tuition. :D

I assume the OP is in state and that KSU=Kennesaw State and not Kansas or Kent State.

yes KSU is kennesaw state university. It is a much less respected university than bama which is top 100. My desire is to attend UGA. Bama is more of a safety net if I attend freshman year there and do not make great grades. However, at ksu if i dont make very good grades and am forced to stay there it is a much less acknowledged degree from an accounting stand point.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to go the community college—>UGA route. I’m not sure the difference in cost between your CC and KSU, but you’d certainly save a lot by going that route rather than going to Bama for a year or two.
