College Help

I would like to know my chances at Cornell University (engineering school) or Carnegie Mellon

IM applying EARLY decision to either one!
Here my stats:
GPA: (3.71/4) didn’t do well sophomore yr
SAT: 2320
SAT math: 800
SAT Chemistry: 790
SAT Physics: 800
Academic decathlon awards
Science league (top 10%)
Published scientist on NCBI database for working with a protein research group and finding a new DNA sequence (I did this through a club in my school)
100 hrs volunteer
Ill be a junior this September, so what other things can I do?
Ill be applying for an research internship to couple universities so I can do them over the summer before my senior yr.
OR I can do a research program over the summer before senior yr, and because I do the research program I become the president of the club I mentioned earlier

So which program should I go for?
What else can I do?
Here are a list of things that I plan on getting into for junior yr, but it’s only a 75% chance of happening, but do any of these help?
Science Olympiad,
Physics team semifinalist,
Secretary of another club
AMC math competition

SO again, im applying early to either Carnegie mellon on Cornell university
Will I get into either or both? And if so which should I go for?
Thank you!

I would say CMU is a match and Cornell a low reach. Go to whichever one you get into.

Have you visited both and if so, which one did you feel more comfortable at? Thats how you should choose. You have a good shot at both, I agree with what Erin’s Dad said. But this is a “fit” choice

I think you would be in at either. I know people who had much less impressive numbers and ECs that got into Cornell engineering and Carnegie Mellon. You’re already pretty set since you’re only going into your junior year.
