My ACT is a 26
and my SAT is a 1890
I have retaken the ACT and am waiting for scores..

Schools I want to go to are( applying to):

Indiana University(Instate)
Villanova
Ohio State
UVA
UNC
Northwestern
UCLA
UC Berkley
Carnegie Mellon
Boston College
Boston University

Give me some input and some other school reccomendations please.. I feel lost and feel like my Gpa is going to hold my chnces down

Unfortunately you won’t make it to UCB/UCLA/Northwestern/UVA, since your GPA/test scores are too low. I’d recommend aiming a bit lower. I’m not very familiar with schools with your prospective major, so your best bet would be to go on the College Board website and use the free College Search tool to find schools.

Both your GPA and SAT scores will “hold you back” from those schools… (But - I don’t know anything about Ohio State). Find a guidance councilor to help or if you want more help from the members here tell us what your looking for in a school…

I am looking to go into Finance or Accounting… Will going to a top 10 highschool in the nation help my chances? and how about the IB program? I did retake the Act last weekend and and i feel as i got atleast a 29… I have only taken the SAT once and without studying… So i can surley do better. As to my GPA I started wih AP 3 AP classes my Sophmore year which killed me. Then I learned and brought my GPA up. What are some suggested schools. My counsler told me that UCLA may not be a bad shot.

Is your counselor in CA? Your stats are currently very low for UCLA and most of these schools. You need to take a hard look at the stats for accepted students and add some more attainable schools.

Can you afford to be full pay at those that don’t meet need?

No my counsler is in Indiana. As i said above will the fact of IB diploma and top 10 high school help me? my correct Gpa un weighted is a 3.25 and a weighted of 3.53 and the 3.53 is what is on my transcript and what will be sent to colleges. And yes I will be able to pay full… I cant qualify for need based aid sadly ;(

Indiana University(Instate) excellent chance
Villanova very risky
Ohio State go for it
UVA don’t bother applying
UNC don’t bother applying
Northwestern don’t bother applying
UCLA don’t bother applying
UC Berkley don’t bother applying
Carnegie Mellon don’t bother applying
Boston College high risk
Boston University try it

Holy Cross excellent suggestion
Babson great for business

Consider other schools, like Fairfield University or Fordham or Drexel or Temple. But, the schools you listed are too reachie. Be sure to think of yourself as someone who’s choosing a college that fits.

Agree with everyone else. Most of these schools are big reaches. Also, Villanova has gotten very tough to get into especially for their Business majors. Purdue and James Madison (VA) have strong Business programs and may be worth a look. Other school suggestions posted by everyone else are good ones also. Best of luck!

Thanks, I have applied to Boston College and Indiana University allready and I will apply to UNC (force of parents). Looking at Ohio state as it has a good accounting program. Any other school suggestions? Is NYU a option?
