UCLA College Honors results are out. Congrats to those who applied and got in. See you all at orientation.

I feel like everyone who applies and completes an app gets in. Amirite?

I’m pretty sure thats the case. I’ve only known about two people who applied and didn’t get in from previous years, but it was more because their senior year was terribly academically.

i personally don’t know anyone who applied and DIDN’T get in.

maybe this is because the requirements for applying are so stringent. what is it, a 4.1 GPA? i’d say that is pretty good, so most students who fulfill this requirement are probably great applicants.

it just kinda sucks for those who don’t have the best gpa but could still compete (lol… me). idk, i wish they had a standardized testing alternate option/requirement. my sat’s satII’s and ap’s are pretty good, kinda a bummer i couldn’t apply.

Just something to keep in mind…college honors is not really recognized by most graduate/pre-med/business/law programs. The honors that really matter are departmental honors that you receive upon graduating college. You will need a 3.4-3.6 in your department to get those. More than 75% of UCLA freshman are in college honors and they realize that no one cares about it and that all it does is ruin your GPA and drop it. It doesnt’ give you any benefits and the counselors are less open than regular counselors!

Is this really true? Sounds like a bummer.

It’s not really true. There’ve been discussions on the main board about it that go over the pros and cons more thoroughly.

Nobody who meets the minimum requirements for Honors gets rejected.

is it possible to apply for college honors sophmore year?? i missed this years deadline :(

Yeah it is possible i heard you have to maintain a certain GPA something like 3.0 or 3.5

ohh ok thats good! thanks!
