Anyone know how competitive it is to get a college house assignment for housing as a sophomore? Anyone familiar with the college house interview process? Specifically, is the interview just an informal opportunity to chat or is there something specific they look for?

Meh. College houses are semi-competitive. The interview matters a fair amount, as well as the rest of your block. They are looking for responsible members who will help build the Bowdoin community. Be true to who you are - if you’re not a typical Bowdoin over-committed “I do everything possible on campus!” student, emphasis how your traits would benefit the house. That’s what I did! You’ll probably get into the house if you can present a strong argument why you would benefit the house and help the Bowdoin community.

Thanks for the info! I will pass it on to my son. They are a block of football players…not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. :)
