Sorry if this comes off as dumb and uneducated. I know that some colleges allow you to request an interview, but when I read Yale’s on/off campus interview section, they only had a link to request for an on-campus interview. Can someone breakdown the interviewing process for me, please? Thank you for reading.
It is laid out clearly on the website. You cannot request an alumni/local interview. “In some regions, the number of applicants exceeds the number of interviews available. Interviews will be offered on a space-available basis to as many applicants as possible, but applicants may not request an alumni interview. Please do not attempt to contact Undergraduate Admissions or the local ASC volunteers to request an interview.”

Okay, cool, if they do not explicitly state that on other college websites, would it be safe to assume the same?
No, you cannot assume every college does things the same as Yale does.
You should read each colleges’ website to find out their interview process. They all do it differently. If you have a question about a specific school, and you can’t find it, feel free to PM me and I can look around too.
Most colleges do not offer interviews. For those that have alumni interviews like Yale, you cannot request them-- just like Yale
@happy1 Sorry, I meant that some colleges don’t say anything about off-campus interviews. If they didn’t, I might assume that they don’t offer an off-campus interview.
@yonceonhismouth Thank you! I’ll try to dig around some more!
@T26E4 Thank you for the clarification!
