College Interviews: Chance or Reward?

So up until this point I thought interviews were given out on an as-available basis. If there was an alumnus nearby who volunteers to give interviews, you would get one. Recently though I watched a move where an applicant said "So glad I got an interview! That's a good sign! They must be serious about me!"

So...

Does getting an interview have anything to do with my application's strength? or rather is it completely irrelevant?

P.S. I got an interview from Princeton, and I want to know if I'm special :D

You may or may not be special, but it isn’t because you got an interview.

If this is a normal source of admissions information for you, then your candidacy is in trouble! What does Princeton itself say? It’s not difficult to find out.

@&26E4, haha yeah, ok, that makes sense. Thanks!

Everyone applying to Princeton gets an interview.
