Which colleges require interviews? And if they do require it, is it by phone or personally meeting at a certain location?

It is almost always a face-to-face interview. :) Some do not require them; they just highly recommend them. Others choose who does and who does not get an interview (based on the availability of interviewers).

Check the website for any colleges you're applying to and see if they require (or "recommend") interviews. Some will want them done on campus, most will have regional representatives or alumni who do a face-to-face interview in your area, some will do them by phone, and some won't even offer them. Many schools that offer interviews have some process that applicants have to initiate to get on the list (that is, a student often has to request an interview, and then is told whom they've been matched to or what the next step is), so don't just assume the school will contact you. The website should tell you what you might need to do.

But since every school is different, do check the websites of any schools you're interested in. It's also OK to interview if you think you're interested, but then you end up not applying. That happens often, schools are used to that.
