Im going into my senior year and im planning on applying to brandeis early decision and i have a couple of questions. First, when should i go in for my interview (over the summer or in the beginning of the year??) and also I haven’t taken my SAT 2 yet and the first date i can take them on is Oct 15…will i have time to get the scores in by the nov 15 deadline and if not will i be able to send them after the deadline?? please let me know!!!

Brandeis does accept October scores for ED. If you are only going to Brandeis once for the Interview, then it's better to go when students are on campus than in the summer. But my D had a summer interview (she had visited the campus before) and that was fine. I suggest interviewing at a couple of your "safety" schools first, so that your ED interview is not your first experience.

thats a good idea and thank god about the sat II, i didn't want to wait until the second early decision deadline.

this is the first year that brandeis has 2 ED timeframes -- it may therefore be best for you to check with the admissions office as to how the timing of the sat ii's will coordinate with the 2 different ED timeframes.
i would also suggest contacting them soon about scheduling an interview so that you don't risk them being already overbooked when you want to visit.

do you think that applying for the earlier ED deadline would give me more chance of being accepted than applying for the later deadline?

since this is the first year that brandeis is offering 2 ED periods, i don't think anyone can predict what if any effect the different periods will have on admission decisions.

First of all, Brandeis will render a decision w/out the SATIIs at all. You just have to submit them before you matriculate. There is so much turnover of personnel there, always confirm information with someone w/authority because you may get a different answer. Also, don't sweat the interview. Most applicants never have one and it is never a deciding factor. All they want to hear is that you have a brain in your head and how much you love Brandeis. Sometimes, the interview report never even makes it into the file at all, especially the alumni interview.
