quit going home for the weekends and party

Because everyone remembers college as a time when you lived in a dorm and everyone was around you and you knew everyone on your floor and you guys always did stuff together. People don’t realize things are different at different places.

Like when I tell family or other people about how in my dorm I haven’t met anyone because no one comes outside or left their door open or really gave me a chance to meet them and the RA we live with doesn’t allow us to do anything, all they say is “Well you just have to try harder” or “Stop blaming everyone else, it’s your fault, you live with all these people and you don;t know any of them? That’s pathetic”. Because they all remember the traditional dorms where everyone left their door open all the time, and don;t exactly understand how my suite-style dorm works.

Haha. this is the ugly truth of college. It is the “time of your life” if you are attractive and an extrovert, in which case you can pick and choose your friends. Otherwise you’ve just got to hope you’ll “fall in” with a group of people. It happened to me after a quarter or so; not the people id ideally hang out with but that’s life.
