Automatically, students/graduates of Ivies and Top schools are always perceived to have some higher level of intelligence, just by being able to get into those schools. I'm not saying students who attend state or lowered-tiered schools aren't bright. I'm just saying that society will "automatically" assume you are if you have attended an Ivy/Top school.

I would imagine the education being just about the same if you went to a state school (tier 1)vs. a harvard. I think it all comes down to the alumni, and the name, that makes the difference.

*A lot of ivy league kids don't wake up until later in their lives and realize, there is more to life then straight A's.

True, however, I am 32 and completing my undergrad, now. So, I have also seen the other side of things (working in the real world) and now know how important attending an Ivy is to me.

But, it also depends on where you live. I'm from Houston, TX., so an Ivy League education is not as highly regarded down here as say Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, etc. Of course, I am living in a "Hillbilly" city...lol :D

kinglin, i disagree. theres no doubt in my mind that you would get a better education at princeton than rutgers.
