college issues.

i'm debating between math 110 (Mathematics for Liberal Arts Students) or math 115 [college algebra]. i really suck at math and i really don't want to take a class that i'll fail.. in regards to my major (bus admin), i only need to take math 135A which is business calculus, but i have to take pre-reqs for that math class before i can take it blah blah you already know. the last math class i took in high school was precalculus but let me tell you that i know nothing and the teacher just let us eat and talk the whole time. i barely remember algebra 2 and geometry was a JOKE lol. if anyone has taken math 110/115, please let me know how it was

another thing is where can i get books for cheap? my school basically offers books for new in the newest edition (which the professors want -__-) or used ones but it's still a bit pricey. so i was wondering what's the cheapest site for books?

You are at Fullerton, right?

You should take Math 115. It’s the easier of the two pre-calculus classes (115 and 125) and a passing grade would allow you to move on to 135.

Math 110 is interesting material and very different from any math you’ve probably seen in high school, but it will not prepare you for calculus or pre-calculus. It would however give you a good foundation for philosophy, computer science and math competitions! :)

Thanks for the advice, however, I already switched to Math 110. I think if I swapped to Math 115 again I might get ****ty hours… lol. I thought it would be super simple algebra but I guess not. Meh, I still have time to change it :P

I usually buy my books off of Amazon (used) and then resell them for nearly the same price at the end of the semester.

If you’d like to take high school algebra again, look at Math 035, 040 and 045. Math 110 is something completely different (logic and discrete math).
