I found out that Berkeley libraries open until 2a.m. at the latest (except for finals) which is a major drawback for me because I like camping out in libraries and staying for several days in a row without seeing the light of day. (call me weird if you want)

Which college libraries are open 24/7? (specifically UCLA and UCSD) Is it common to have libraries open 24/7 on college campuses?

I dont think its that common... Duke is doing it right now on a trial basis... most places seem to be open late but not all the time on weekdays and then they are open 24 hrs a day during exams (like Berk) I'm sure there are some that dont follow this but it seems to be the "norm".

You can sleep in the library, even if you technically aren't allowed to. My school library closes but I know a few people who have stayed overnight (accidentally, mind you).

But the important question is, when are you going to camp out there for a couple days? Not during the week, b/c you have classes, so that leaves... the weekend?

Case Western's library is open 24/7, but their reference desk closes at 9pm on weekdays. That and the security guy likes to harass students who fall asleep as he's bored.

USC's Leavey Library is open 24/6 (as it's closed Saturday night).

I work one night shift there and during midterm times, it is crowded. But off-peak times, it's just a few grad students who tend to be sleeping anyways.

anyway, our library here is open 24 hours monday-fri, and then we have one that is open from 6am to 2am monday-fri and on weekends open from 10 am to 12 am.
we've also got a study lounge for MBAs but anyone can really use it and it's open 24 hours.

Vicisitudes your right.... your weird. I dunno if I am missing something but why would you want to be in the library 24/7 studying? I'm sure your smart just live a little ;)
