<p>If you're talking about the UNC in Chapel Hill, a friend of mine who attends seems to think it's quite "cliquey". In general:</p>

Campus Life A full life is the name of the game at Carolina. Students enjoy the best of both worlds, a "small-school atmosphere with large-school resources," and they have all the "opportunities to excel in what they enjoy." One senior English major chose UNC—Chapel Hill because of its "good balance of academic and social life," while another senior was attracted because "both working and playing hard are encouraged." A schoolmate echoes, "We are well rounded with academics, athletics, and activities." More specifically, "from student government to Web servers to Friday parties, life is good." Tar Heel sports are popular, especially men's basketball, and pick-up games are always looking for fresh challengers. Chapel Hill, essentially a quaint extension of the campus, is a "fun college town," and "people go out every weekend to clubs, bars, and parties." In terms of the grounds, a senior states, "The school is beautiful except that everywhere you turn there's construction." (UNC—Chapel Hill is currently undergoing a $1.2 billion facelift.)
