Can anybody tell me what the nightlife/ social scene is like for college kids in New Orleans?

Ok, so obviously you know that there is what could be considered and endless selection of diversions of nightlife in New Orleans. Even without a holiday or special event going on there will be both tourists and locals crawling around the French Quarter. The fact is that there will be nightlife galore if you are looking for it. You are the only one that it is in charge of what you decide to get into.

What many people don’t even think about in regards to new Orleans is that there is a whole lot more to the area than just the French Quarter. There is an entire city there that is full of history and culture that is absolutely fascinating.

The weather is awesome in No if you don’t like the cold. the humidity is incredibly thick and will curl anybodies hair. You can catch the trolley and go from one side of the city to the other to explore wherever you want.

If you decide to go to school in New Orleans then be sure to take the time to learn about the very colorful history of the city. Explore the surrounding area and check out the entire area instead of just focusing on the party that can always be found in certain areas.

^Great post.

In regards to your question, I think the answer is really going to depend on the school.

Like I said, if you want more specific info you should give us more details. NOLA has several universities, each of which has a distinct student body and therefore a distinct social scene. That said, you will find all sorts of people wherever you go and you do not have to conform to the dominant social scene.

Well, based on what I know about New Orleans, many of the nightlife places are not as fasinating as what it really is since the crime rate in the metro New Orleans area.

Most every student in every college in every city can find every kind of nightlife/social scene, from finding bars that serve minors to staying in your dorm room playing board games. New Orleans is no different.
