College life...

I'm a high school junior and right now Rice and WashU are my top college choices. i know a lot about WashU because ive researched them and visited their campus. However, i'm seriously looking at rice because of their music program, and the fact that i want to double major.

The thing about the two colleges is that they're so far from east tennessee. I won't even be able to drive back to knoxville from houston. I'll have to fly. but WashU and Rice are really attractive schools to me...do you think this will be a problem?

also could you tell me a little bit about rice? (What's college life like there? and is it easy to make friends? what about the dorms and the facilities? are they new? how big is the campus?) thanks.

And as for the distance, there’s no reason you couldn’t drive there. I do a very long two day drive to get to school in the fall and then home in the spring and then just fly home for winter break. Eastern TN is actually my half-way point so it wouldn’t be fun but it’s not impossible if you want a car at school or want to drive to bring more stuff than you can take on the plane.
