I just finished up all of my standardized testing, so here are my stats:

2310 SAT (800 CR 780 M 730 W)
800 Math II; 800 Bio M; 790 Chemistry
4.0 uw gpa
National leadership position, many strong extracurriculars
Plenty of hours volunteering
Unfortunately, no research experience (my area lacks opportunities)
Probably decent essays and recs

I'm definitely going premed with hopes of going into surgery. I'm looking to enroll in a BA/MD program, and if I'm not accepted, I'm looking to get a large merit scholarship to minimize debt. Here's my list so far (* indicates app to guaranteed program):

UAB*
UPitt*
Case Western*
Northeastern
BU*
Miami*
Wake Forest
Vanderbilt
Brown*

Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated, as my family is new to the college application process and I'm not sure if I'm considering all possibilities.

What is your home state and PSAT score?

PA and I scored a 237, so I will be a NMS.

It looks like you have two good safeties in UAB and Northeastern. As NMF, you would get nearly a full ride at UAB and full tuition at Northeastern guaranteed.

Pitt, BU, Miami, Wake Forest, and Case Western also look like a strong bets for admission and merit aid (although amount not guaranteed or easily predictable).

Vanderbilt and Brown are highly selective, so no guarantees there. Large merit aid is possible at Vandy, but very competitive. Brown does not give merit aid, but it’s good to have an Ivy on your application list so other schools are more motivated to want you (sad, but true).

The only direct admit BS/MD I’m familiar with is UAB. Even with your outstanding stats, that is highly competitive - I believe they award only 8 per year.

So I think you have a great start. Merit aid requires a wide net, and I expect the direct admit programs do as well.

Thank you for your feedback—it is quite helpful.
