When applying for the SAT, it asked me to fill up 3-4 colleges of my choice where my result can be send. Can I fill up the names after getting my result because who knows how much I'll score? And if I can't then what should I do about those colleges. In my mock exams I am getting around 1800s so if I score 1800s in my SAT what would be my chances for university of Michigan, university of Wisconsin, university of indiana or university of iowa? Even though I am not getting good results in SAT in my Ec is pretty strong and so would be my LOR.

P.s. I am an international student so yeah I am not a resident of US

Hi. I see that you are writing the SAT for the first time and are not aware of the way the system works. Don’t worry, we are there to help you out.

So coming back to your question, with every SAT Registration the College Board gives you the opportunity to send your SAT scores for free (which normally costs $11) to any four colleges of you choice. You can avail this feature normally up to a week after you have completed your SAT. So you need to decide quickly if you want to avail this free service. You cannot wait until the results are out. If you want to send your SAT Score after that or if you need to apply to more than 4 Colleges, then you simply need to pay $11 to the College Board.

Hope that helps. Please feel free to ask any queries you have.

So you mean to say after giving my exam on 5th October I can then apply to any of the four colleges within a week and it would be free (to send the score) and if I want to wait for the result then I have pay $11 for every sat result send?

Absolutely Yes. First register for your SAT without giving any colleges. After that to get the exact date until when you can send them for free, goto http://■■■■■■/rcc8qJ and login. You may be asked your password once again. Enter it and you should have My SAT Open.

Here you should see a message entitled “Don’t forget to use your registration score report credits” along with the last date when you can send your 4 scores or free.

Thank you so much!

Usually, I would suggest to send the free scores to safety schools or schools that want all scores anyway.
