Hi, so i'm finishing up my list of colleges to apply to and i don't know whether my list is good or not and really need help. I've made a list based off of my GPA and what i want to do in college. I will be applying to this list of schools so far,

I'm concerned my low SAT scores will effect any chances I have on reaching any of the highers schools on my list (NYU, UCLA, Berkeley, UCSD, UCI) Please give me any feedback on how my list looks and if any changes should be made. Thank you!

Your grades are fine. Your race shouldn’t have anything to do with being accepted.

^I disagree. Not that I am sure AA should definitely help, but if the OP were an Indian./Asian, it would be much tougher to get in UC schools.

Also you need to retake SAT if you want to get in UC schools…that’s really lower than average UC school applicants.
Is that cumulative unweighted GPA 3.68? That seems worrisome too

Yes right now 3.68 is my cumulative unweighted GPA. It was hurt by my sophomore year first semester and its been hard to get it back to the 3.8 it was at.

@paul2752, UC is prohibited by California State law from considering race in admissions decisions. Indian/Asian vs. Black or White will not matter. Based on grades, ECs, and “local context” admissions (see http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/1464599-local-context.html</a>), UC’s may work out well for you. Have you considered applying to other private universities (besides BU & NYU) where race may give you an edge in admissions? Especially if you are low-income, you may find it is a better bet than a public school. Have you been in contact with coaches? Are you being recruited? Is that of interest? If so, you may wish to check out beRecruited.com or a similar site to supercharge your effort.
