College List Help

I need to broaden my list...immediately! Right now I only have like large, urban, Northeastern schools. They are all super competitive and basically I dont think I have much of a chance at any of them. And I will pretty much die if I am forced to go to one of my safeties...
Ok so I am willing to go a little bit smaller and a little bit more surburban but not boondocky; I still want to stay in the Northeast...Any suggestions?

Not a whole lot of info about you in your post -- urban/semi-urban NE Schools that aren't ivy league:
Boston - BU, Tufts, Boston College
Philadelphia - Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Swat, Drexel
New York - NYU, Barnard, Vassar, Sarah Lawrence
Pittsburgh - Carnegie Mellon, Pitt
Rochester - University of Rochester
Washington D.C. - American, GW, Georgetown, Univ of Maryland
Baltimore - Johns Hopkins

If you really don't want to go to your safety schools, take them off your list and find something you'd be happy with. It's been said many times -- your safety school is your most important choice. If all else fails, you want to be happy going there.

Also, I'd suggest you broaden your horizons geographically. There are many really fine schools in the midwest that are easier to get into and every bit as good as east coast schools. Carleton, Grinnell, Oberlin, Chicago, Northwestern, Michigan as a few examples.

Maybe Dusquene (sp?), Northeastern, Syracuse, Albany, Manhattan, St.Johns or Pace (if your a business major). But I dont know your stats or anything so these schools maybe above or below you.

^^^add Villanova and Rutgers to that list

sorry i wasnt so clear before... bascially right now my list looks like:
nyu
bu
tufts
northeastern
gw
brown
penn
suny binghampton
suny albany

i have like a 3.3 gpa and 1220 (old scale) SATs. yea so ok, i hope this helps some. and thanks so much for your posts

All of these are matches or safe: Bentley College, Bryant University, Clark University, Fairfield University, Fordham University, University of Hartford, Hofstra University, Loyola College (Baltimore), Merrimack College, University of Pittsburgh, Providence College, Quinnipiac University, Simmons College. You'd be slight reach for McGill. You are a match for Northeastern University.
