College List Help!

So I only have two schools on my list currently.
University of Alabama
Arizona State University
and UC Riverside (maybe? I'm still not sure yet actually)

But before we all freak out let me just tell you why

So I live in California, and I did not grow up here, I grew up in Lee's Summit, Missouri (yes yes i know where is that what the hell) so I don't really feel too much attachment to the west coast. Moving taught me a lot about the world and there are still parts of the country/world that I have not explored so obivously the best time for me to go out and start somewhere new is when I start college.

So with that said I want to get out and be in the world, but I'm also extremely scared of out of state tuition. I know I won't qualify for any financial aid and my parents have made it clear that they expect me to pay my own way through school.

So let me end this with some of my stats and some things I want in a school

23 ACT(took it again now just waiting for the scores) and 1090 (M+CR)
3.6 UW GPA 3.8 W GPA
Member of Mensa since I was about 10
President of my school's Forensics Team
Employed at a Kumon Center for the past 2 years
And a part of a few different clubs for a few different years on and off

And when it comes to a school I just want somewhere that doesn't have snow, has merit aid available, and has a good biology program.

If anybody knows anything I would greatly appreciate it!

There isn’t a way for you to pay your way thru college. You will need your parents’ financial contribution. Colleges will expect it of them and they won’t simply fill in the money that they expect from your parents. So I recommend you establish early on what your parents can contribute each year. You can only borrow $5500 your first year and save perhaps four to five thousand dollars. Your current stats are not going to win you any merit aid, and the ACT is not likely to improve enough to win much merit.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You need your parents financial help. Run the net price calculator found on the financial aid webpages at these schools you name and talk to your parents about finances. Do not put this off.

There are 4yr colleges all over the sunbelt that will accept you, but you have to find a way to pay for them.
