College list-suggestions-engineering schools

Before, I had a list of 12 schools. Then I looked at it and I was like no way, I probably won't have time to apply to 12. So here's what I did...

A more manageable list of 9 schools that I really want to apply to:
MIT
Stanford
Cornell
Northwestern
Washington
USC
Michigan
Illinois
UNL-safety

But now I want to add a second list of "if there's time" schools.
These include:
Princeton
Carnegie Mellon
(the first 2 I will apply to if I have time)

What you need to help me with is...which of these schools should I apply to next?

U Penn
Lehigh-Want to do the combined Business/Engineering program.
Vanderbilt
Rice
Columbia

Should I also apply to some schools that will give me good money for being a National Merit Finalist (probably will)? These include:
Ohio State
WPI
RIT

If you're wondering...Top 5%, 33 ACT, 3.91GPA

Sure. Knowing only your academic credentials, I have no reason to suggest that you not apply to school A but apply to school B.

prob rice or columbia.

I would move Carnegie Mellon up (as a match in case you can’t get into MIT, Caltech or Stanford). Moreover, I wouldn’t apply to both Michigan and Illinois (one top public is already enough with your stats). If you insist on two state schools, then you should choose a higher ranked public, which, in this case, can only be UC Berkeley. Finally, I don’t think Washington belongs in your list (is it WUSTL ?).

WUSTL because it’s close, a good school, and uses common app without supplement (hey, at least i’m honest)

Don’t want to apply to Berkeley or UCLA because no chance of financial aid.
