College List- Which are good for Pre-Med?

Hi Everyone!

Here's the list of schools I want to apply to in the fall.
Which are the best for Pre-Med? Are there schools on this list I should not apply to at all, if I plan to become a doctor someday? (Note: I kind of have them listed by preference- so I'm more interested in the schools towards the top of the list.)

-Johns Hopkins University
-University of Southern California
-Pomona College

-University of Michigan
-University of California Berkley

-University of California Irvine
-University of California Los Angeles

-University of Maryland (CP)
-University of Vermont

Thank you!

Med schools care more about your GPA and MCAT scores than they do the name on the diploma.

Best schools are the ones that you can graduate from for the least amount of debt. Sometimes smaller schools and less prestigious schools can give you a greater advantage, since the professors get to know you better, you aren’t competing with as many people for those med school recommendations, and you can get more research time.

I agree with KKmama, but out of those Johns Hopkins would definitely be best if you’re trying to go to medical school. I would also add College of the Holy Cross to your list! Their success rate of getting kids into medical school is around 81%, not to mention the fact that the school is smaller means that there are smaller classes, so you get more attention from your teachers! They also have great pre-medical advisors! Not to mention, they have an early assurance program with a couple of schools!

It doesn’t matter. The school where you can get the highest GPA would be best, although you have no way of knowing which school that is. I wouldn’t worry about it. See where you get in and go to the school you like best.
