This is probably the lamest question ever by far but.... How do relationships in college work in general. Is monogamy expected or is it usually understood when something is like a "hook-up" or whatever

Hee.

Just as in high school, it depends on who you are and what you're looking for. It seems to me that casual hookups are less shameful in college than in high school -- but I did, of course, grow up in the Midwest and then came to the east coast for college. :)

Like anything else ... what you make of it.

well dont do anything physical and if s/he is still interested then s/he probably doesnt want just a hookup

Yeah here is a little known secret about women that guys don't tell them (in fact we tell them the exact opposite) the longer you make us wait (within reason) the more we like you and the more likely a LTR would develop.

I didn't say that. <shhhh></shhhh>

Well as a freshman im 100% sure that im not going to be ready for a relationship. They werent really my strong suit in high school so i definitely dont think they will be with the kind of freedom i will have in college.

Yes, a long and meaningful relationship will originate from playing games.

However, I do agree that you shouldn't throw your cards on the table all at once or even in big doses.

I think joev was referring to abstinence adconard.

Exactly !

I would say that 95% of people coming to college don't want to get involved with anyone right away. Of course it doesn't always work out that way - three of my freshman friends are currently seeing someone (including one who's dating me)

Have sex with as many girls as you can. That is what makes you cool and tough.

^ Uh, duh! All the cool kids in the neighborhood do it.
