College mail from PSAT

So I have another question: if you checked that you wanted to get college mail when you registered for the PSAT, will colleges send info based on your scores or not? Last year, I got lots of mail, all saying that I was highly qualified, but I wasnt sure if it was because of my PSAT scores or if colleges can't see them at all. So my question is, does CB release the scores to colleges if I checked the box?

They don't release the scores. I think that colleges just buy the addresses of the X top percent of PSAT takers

I don't think colleges can see your scores. They see everything you fill out on the form but that.

Ok, so colleges don't necessarily your specific score, but they buy lists of people from the top percentage scoring wise?

But don't expect anything important, they're just good ego boosts.

Yeah, I just like getting mail ;)

They actually don't buy addresses based upon top x% of test takers: all mailing lists are called from the information that you report. So really the only thing that matters is what average cum. GPA you put down (A+,A,A-, etc.).

^^
yes. its a good thing i lied. i put A+ as my average. im going to get mail from harvard and princeton... suckers...

haha JK. i put B+(isnt that for a 3.9 W 3.7 UW GPA right?)

You'll get mail from all across the board regardless of the scores you put down. The best school that mails me is WUStL and let's face it... they mail everyone. My 4.0 has nothing to do with it :-/

Since my weighted GPA is 4.14 (out of 4.25) is it okay that I put A+ average instead of A?

raiderade, don't be surprised if the CIA slams down your door and throws you in an unmarked black van and nobody ever hears from you again. big mistake man, big mistake.

lol.......

What I'm saying is do they want your weighted or unweighted gpa?

ull know when the CIA comes for u aight?
haha jk.

um i think it doesnt matter. i think anything above a 4.0 is a A+. who cares.

highhopes: i did too get a letter from WUStL. so im guessing its nothing special. although i did get a letter from U Chicago due to my 5 on the AP exam. but i bet others got it as well.

hmm? i feel theres something going on with your score. i only put down A-, nowhere near a 4.0 or whats required for top schools, and major advertising down yet im getting mail from brown, columbia, yale...the only good thing was my score
