So the breadcrumbs were back for a day and now they’re gone again?

And…they’re back. I think someone’s having some fun with us.

Perhaps you are seeing some caching going on. The vendor isn’t flipping a switch on and off or anything like that. So, it’s probably your browser cache having fun with you.

I don’t have them either.

Next time you see that can you hit Ctrl-F5 and see if it persists? Also make sure to clear your browser cache.

I have not been able to reproduce the issue again since the fix was put in place.

Yeah, given that the code is set up to do one thing, the fact that some of you may be seeing different outcomes certainly points to browser caching, since the code itself wouldn’t jump back and forth in how it behaved.

I can’t Ctrl+F5 because I’m on a chromebook now. (No F buttons).

And OMG I just went back to Parent Cafe and it’s back.

It does seem to be jumping around on me though. I know nothing about computers or codes but I know what I see :confused:

It seems each time you bring up that it’s missing is when it comes back. So, in your case, just keep pointing out that it’s missing and you should have no other problems :slight_smile:

I know last year we had what appeared to be server side caching, where the server itself would cache information to save resources (with a side effect being similar to what you are seeing). I was hoping it would be browser caching, since you’d have control over fixing it on your end. It should eventually stop switching back and forth, but I’d like to get more information on why it happens. Thus far, I have not seen it revert back (and that could be due to me hitting a different server than you).

I can distill that “Greek” paragraph down to a few words: “caching isn’t always our friend”

I’m assuming the great disappearing menu items will eventually reappear for good for you…and anyone else who is seeing this behavior.

And it’s back to that missing one (now I’m on the other computer, which was fixed, and now it’s not).

F5’ed it and nada.

Btw, I was wrong about different browsers- I’m using Chrome on both. I thought I was using FF for some reason on regular laptop.

(And yes- complained and it came back. Oy vey!)

Such is the ‘cruelty’ of server-side caching. At least, that’s how we’re officially diagnosing it after hearing your detailed feedback. Our team reached out to the vendor about options for resolving this. We don’t desire to drive our users insane, though at times it may seem the contrary is indeed true.

It’s all right. My finals are doing a good enough job of driving me batty.

I think cc is just doing me a favor and just encouraging me to quit procrastinating…

By the way, can you check again to see if it is still happening? Apparently, the vendor did something on the server side in an effort to solve this. Thanks!
